Last Sunday, I boarded an airplane for the first time since March and winged my way Northwest to Monterey, California. What for, you may ask? To attend the fantabulous Internet Librarian 2007 Conference.
I'd never been to IL before, and wasn't sure what to expect, though I have been to the ALA annual conference and a couple of state conferences.
There were sessions I really enjoyed, but there were also several that I left early because they were not what I expected them to be - or had been changed between the time the final program was prepped. Admittedly, one of the sessions was changed because the presenter was sick, so that I can accept, especially as I seem to be developing something that I picked up on the plane or in conference.
Overall, I really enjoyed the conference. One of the best parts for me was the networking that occurred. I got to meet a lot of my tweets, including desertlibrarian and freerangelibrarian and I added some new tweets to the mix. I'm still in the digestion phase of all the information I gathered. Luckily, I get to go back to work tomorrow before everything is fully digested. I did get to do some neat things - there were sea lions and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. There was also apparently an earthquake not far away, though I felt nothing. A few of my photos are below, though more will be forthcoming.
